What a SMARTASS!!!

I don't cook in the summer, PERIOD. I will microwave and I will make sandwiches, but I go no where near the stove.

In the fall and winter, I cook a lot. On a Sunday, I will usually make a soup, bread and a pie. I like to freeze the soup for those days I don't feel like making anything. I LOVE to cook, just not in the summer.

So, the weather here has started getting cooler, and I dusted off the pots and pans.

The other day I made stuffed chicken breasts and acorn squash. It was nothing special, honest.

Well, you would have thought that Matt was starving for 3 months and I just handed him a cracker!!!

After I served it, I went back into the kitchen to get something and when I came back, HE WAS TAKING A PICTURE OF HIS PLATE WITH THE DIGITAL CAMERA!!!!!

Here's how the conversation went;

Me: "What are you doing?"

Matt: "I'm taking a picture of my dinner."

Me: "Why?"

Matt: "Because it is the best thing I ever ate and I want to remember, just in case you stop cooking again."

Me: "Give me the camera."

Matt: "Why?"

Me: "Because I'm going to stick it down my shirt and take a picture, that's something you are going to have to try to remember if you don't stop dogging me about not cooking!"

Matt (with mouth full): "mff....um"

Me: "What?"

Matt: "That's ok, just keep cooking."

Me: "Smartass!"

It is nice to be appreciated, but it won't last long. Maybe I'll give up other things for a while, how about bathing or shaving my legs? I bet I will be greatly appreciated when I go back to one of those after a hiatus. (Probably from my husband as well as a bunch of other people.)

Stuffed Chicken breasts and acorn squash could not be easier.

prepare pepperidge farm stuffing (it's just what I prefer) and add a can of mushrooms. Cut a slit into side of chicken breasts and stuff. Salt and pepper and add some pads of butter to the top and bake 375 for 45-60 min.

Acorn squash:

Cut squash in half and hollow out. Put on baking sheet upside down and bake at 375 until soft (about 35-45 min) let cool a little and remove out skin. Smash in a baking dish with butter and brown sugar. You can put it back in the oven to heat up if needed.

I also make a gravy by making a can of cream of mushroom soup and add the dripping from the chicken.

Voila!!! (I know it's a lot of butter, but I'm a midwest girl! I'm sure you can cut it but I never understood that concept.)

Enjoy!!

Yum yum sounds good! Seeing as I take food tech for GCSE, I'm forced into cooking (and urgh-writing about it) all year round.
It meas we get to eat yummy food though!

LOL too funny! I don't cook, never have--thankfully, I found someone who enjoys cooking--and cleaning.
Do not send the hit squad out for me. He does have faults!
