Acid Flashback Friday

Last week a lot of you told me how young you are and don't remember songs from the 70's.

This week I am giving you a little gem from the 80's and if you don't remember this song, you have to get permission from your parents to continue to read this blog!

When this song came out, I honestly thought it was about exercise. I WAS 9!!!!

Physical - Olivia Newton John 1981

Olivia trying to prove the old saying "All the good ones are either taken or gay"

So, do you think she shed her goody-goody Sandy image after making this song?

Oh yeah. I was a recent high school grad, newly wed and working out was the craze. This reminds me of the Jane Fonda workout videos. lol

The songs these days just come right out and say it. Have you ever heard the songs Lollipop or Candy Shop or I Wanna Love You. Look up the lyrics for those.

I DO know that song. But I dont think I quite got what "let me hear your body talk" really meant.

I don't think she EVER shed her goody goody image. In looking back.... the whole 'look' of exercise clothing in the 80's was so ugly. Skinny girls in skinny leotards. SO glad those days are gone.

OK, this one came out about three years before I was born, but I know it well. :)

Don't feel bad... I thought it was about exercise as well. I think I was about 13 when I actually realised what she was singing about. LOL!

So... I wasn't born when that song was made... but I know the song 'cause my mom listened to that type of music all the time when I was a kid. Now I know that music better then "my" music.

I knew which song you were talking about right away! I did have an idea of what was implied. I don't rember those little things the guys are wearing though. That's just not sexy to me.

I have a new address. I thought it was about excercise too LOL.

Yes it is! It's about the most fun exercise of all...a good old fashion cardio-vascular workout!

When this came out, I was about 11 or 12 depending on what time of year it was.

I was 6 when this song came out and it was my FAVORITE! I got the record for my birthday! Can't believe my mom let me go around singing it.

1981, I remember that year well; My last year in Iowa before heading East to Chicago, and I turned 12.

I too thought that song was about exercise, until a friend explained what it was REALLY about. I was so naive.
