Being a child of the seventies, I got most of my exposure to popular music from The Muppet Show.
Every Saturday night, we would be glued to the TV to see who the guest star was that week.
Elton John has always been my very favorite entertainer and I think this episode of The Muppet Show is the reason why.

That is great. He was one flashy dude. I saw him at Farm Aid in the 80's in Indianapolis. Great entertainer.
This is such a great video..... before the days when he turned into a grumpy old man.
The Muppets always bring out the best in everyone..

LOVE IT - thanks for the stroll down memory lane. I was 10 at the time - soon to turn 11. Love watching the muppets then and still do now. Animal has got to be my favorite. Hard to remember that sometimes they are just puppets! Too have those simple days of the 70's & 80's back again! Love Elton Johhn also!
I love Elton. I have the best of Elton John CD. I think my favorite is Benny And The Jets. My friends and I used to sing it in grade school. I am also right there with you on the Muppets. I think this was a twofer.
I'm a child of the 80's...Love the Muppets! Tiny Dancer...One of my favorite songs!
I want his hat!
there's something very odd about saeeing that well-known song sung in such an odd context.
This is why the muppets are cool.
The muppets are awesome! That is a great video, thanks for sharing!
I totally loved watching The Muppets on Saturday night! My favorite muppet is Beaker.

LOVE IT!! I used to be excited every week for this show! I still have my MUPPETS board game from the 70's!!!!
I love Muppet's...and I love Elton!
Elton is great. i loved me some muppets especially Animal!!
I remember this one while I was growing up. I may have heard it before this, but the first time I can remember listening to it was when I was on holiday with my Mam and my brothers - I think the place was called "Pontins" - and there was a "Crocodile Club" which was a children's disco that was on each night before the clubs opened up properly for the adults. I know I heard it then... I would have been about six, I think. Like I said though, I probably heard it loads of times before that, that's just the first time I remember hearing it.
