Last night the weather cooperated and we were able to take the girls to the Drive-in. The girls and I got into our pajamas and loaded the car with pillows and blankets. Matt grabbed 2 folding chairs, and off we went.
Our first stop was Menard's. They are the only store that I am able to find Nestle's Buncha Crunch. As strange as that is because Menard's is a hardware store, I can't find them anywhere but regular movie theaters and the drive-in doesn't have them. I NEED to eat them with my popcorn.
We got to the drive-in and we were a little sad that we couldn't park in our regular spot anymore. Lola is considered a small SUV and we had to park by the red or yellow poles so we didn't block any one's view.
We backed into our spot, put the seats down, set the girls up in the hatchback, put the chairs out in front, and enjoyed the movie "Up". I would have pictures of us, but we forget that Matt took the batteries out of the camera to put in the Wii remote.
The movie was excellent! I did start to cry in about 6 different parts, but it was really great.
Because of this movie, Emerson wants to start an Adventure Book for the summer. We are going to work on that today along with more Extreme Makeover. The weather is pretty nasty today.
One more thing, I got word yesterday that Tomato will be here 2 WEEKS FROM TODAY!!!! I am so excited to see her and my nephew, Gage!!! (What I'm really excited about is that she promised to practice her Massage Therapy training on me)

yep, those go in my popcorn too- every time
I've never had those with my popcorn but I have noticed that chocolate and popcorn do really complement each other. Now I have a new taste mission!
Funny thing about the drive-in movies for me..I only remember them as being mosquito-infested, humid, miserable experiences. Yet somehow it's a fond memory. ;)
We have a drive in about an 45 minute drive from here, we keep meaning to go! I think you just inspired me!
Only "started to cry"? Girl, I was bawling the first 20 minutes of the movie, then again when he found the pictures at the back of Ellie's Adventure book.
What a great idea to start your own Adventure book! I think I'll have my kids do it, too.
How fun to have a drive-in! We don't have one around here, but I remember going to one with my parents when I was little...
You should do a post about your adventure book ideas!
Man, I aint been to a Drive-In in forever!
Some of my favorite memories are from drive-in days. There aren't any around my area any more :(
What a special memory for your girls!
We love the drive in as well..I can't wait to visit the one we go to!! and definitely will try buncha crunch in my popcorn! :)
That was SUCH a good movie! It kicked off our summer in a great way. Next is "Night in the Museum II". I hear it is super good!

That movie was awesome and I cried throughout the entire show!
Um, heck yes!! If your sister wants to practice massage therapy on you I wouldn't say no....I'm jealous!!
I've heard so many good things about Up! I'll definitely have to check it out now. :-)
I haven't been to a Drive-In since college... and that one was in Paris, Illinois and umm, well, it showed, err... adult films.... but I was just there for the popcorn! Really!!
